Court Grants Bail to Two Chinese Men Accused of Offering N100m Bribe to EFCC Staff In Nigeria.

Two Chinese men named Meng Wei Kun and Xui Kuoi who was accused bribering the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have been granted bailed in a high court in Sokoto following several arguments. In chamber of Justice Muhammad Saidu Sifawu of Sokoto state.

This issue arises on May 21, 2020 on Thursday after both Chinese have been granted bail of a case of N100 million bribe case.

The justice granted both defendants bail and amount to sum of Five million Naira (N5,000,000) each and instructed to be deposited with the Director Litigation, High Court in Sokoto state and added to valid sureties in like sum, one which must be resident in the state and must deposit Certificate of Occupancy of his landed property within the jurisdiction of the court.

According to EFCC as posted on their official page, it wrote that: "defendants to submit their international passports with the chief registrar of the court and demanded that they take an undertaking that they would not travel out of the country throughout the duration of their trial."
